Rabbit Colony Shed

Colony raising rabbits isnt hard, but there are a few considerations that can make setting up a rabbit colony go more smoothly. when i brought home our american chinchilla breeding trio, i had researched raising meat rabbits extensively. i knew i wanted to raise my rabbits in a colony.. As you know, i am a huge advocate for colony raising rabbits, in new zealand that means we have to keep them in a shed, away from any possible contact with wild rabbits. rcd precautions to prevent the spread of rabbit calicivirus on outdoor runs : try and put fine insect mesh on all runs.. The most commonly asked question i've had about my colony is, "can i see your setup?" so here it is! i'll explain each thing as i go along. hopefully this will help anyone who wants to start raising their rabbits in a colony. i've affectionately named the shed where my colony is housed, "the bunny.

But i think if someones going to be raising colony meat buns in pens, its definatly a good idea, stops predators from digging in, and bunnies from digging out. keeps them "natural" but a lidded "nest/warren" box makes checking litters acessable form the inside if you allow them to kit in the colony pen.. Wood planks or sheets - this is not a common option when building a new pen or shelter for rabbits, but it is very common when retro-fitting an existing stall, shed or other structure for use with colony rabbits. it can be done well, but with some strong limitations.. Hey guys! thanks for watching this video! please request videos! and im so happy because its finally summer wooo! links and information-my other channel:.
